Article VI.1 of the IOTC Agreement states: Each Member of the Commission shall be represented at sessions of the Commission [or Scientific Committee] by a single delegate who may be accompanied by an alternate and by experts and advisers. Alternates, experts and advisers may take part in the proceedings of the Commission [or Scientific Committee] but may not vote, except in the case of an alternate who is duly authorised to substitute for the delegate.

National Reports

Each year, delegates from Member Parties and Cooperating Non-contracting Parties are expected to report on their tuna fisheries, statistical systems and research programmes, as well as on measures taken to implement Scientific Committee recommendations. Guidelines for the completion of the National Reports are available in PDF and MS Word formats.

Deadlines: 

September 3  (90 days prior): Circulate  draft  Agenda
October 3  (60 days prior): for comments on draft agenda from participants to the secretariat
October 18 (45 days prior): for applications to the IOTC Meeting Participation Fund
November 2 (30 days prior): for participants to notify the Secretariat of papers being submitted for the meeting
November 17 (15 days prior): for meeting papers to be provided to the Secretariat. National Reports for the SC due from Members and other papersDecember 2: 16th Scientific Committee commences, Busan, Rep. of Korea.
