Data used to assess the extent of IOTC catches subject to CPC-specific catch limits

Catch limits and proportion of catches subject to individual limits (2022–2028)

This dataset accompanies the IOTC-2026-TCAC17-INF01 information paper and provides catch estimates, individual catch limits and the estimated proportion of catches associated with fleets subject to CPC-specific catch limits for yellowfin tuna, bigeye tuna, skipjack tuna and swordfish.

The Excel workbook contains three worksheets:

• catch_and_limits: Annual catch estimates and applicable individual catch limits by fleet and species, including the proportion of each limit utilised.

• pct_catch_limited_2022_2025: Estimated percentage of total catches by fleet category for 2022–2025, based on the catch-limit framework applicable in each year.

• pct_catch_limited_2026_2028: Indicative percentages for 2026–2028, based on the average distribution of catches among fleets during 2022–2025 and the catch-limit framework applicable in each year.

Fleet categories distinguish between fleets subject to individual catch limits (A), CPCs not subject to individual catch limits (B), and non-IOTC members (C).
